Not the facts I expected

Last week I found a leaflet in my letterbox.

It was clearly and simply entitled, “The UK and the European Union: THE FACTS”.

Across the top of the title page read “Information about the referendum on 23 June 2016.”

The word facts was reiterated three times on the inside pages which contained eight paragraphs, each more negative about the EU than the last.

There was also a link to a website about ‘referendum facts’.

This was not what I had been expecting from the face of this leaflet.

I had expected a balanced argument with facts and choices which I would have been interested to read despite the fact that I make no secret of being a dedicated Remain campaigner.

It is not easy to find the source of this leaflet unless you happen to know where to look.

On the back page, right at the end of a paragraph of minute font size I found the words ‘Sent by Vote Leave’ and an address.

Is Vote Leave so short of arguments that they have to fall back on deception, and efforts like these to hoodwink the public ?

Are these the people who claim they will lead our country into a bright new future ?

Shame on you, Vote Leave !
