Problems with unloading

You will remember that last week you kindly published a letter of mine over the concern I had about the High Street.

My concern was that the biggest problem in the High Street was the high pavement outside the old town hall and the inability of parking and unloading for new tenants of the Town Hall or anyone to use this part of the road safely.

The museum has been let for a short time to advertise the Hastings piano competition.

The vehicle (Morfeys of Rye ) arrived to unload material for the display and was unloading at 11.15am on January 27 when another vehicle attempting to pass it thought it could if it mounted the high pavement, tipped over and crashed into the delivery vehicle moving it down the road with its force.

No one was injured, thank goodness.

This is not a letter to say I told them so but just to illustrate the continuing problems of the high pavement.
