Rye’s Arch is a tatty entrance to town

REPLY to letter in April 27, re Landgate Arch in Rye.

Restoration of the arch would solve wildlife problems.

Fundraising should be commenced to put a roof on this historic structure.

Get the clock going, sort the flagpoles and give access on occasions as a historic monument.

The arch is a near-unique complete defensive tower of the Cinque Ports.

It adds, when restored, to Rye’s attractions, but presently is a tatty entrance to the town.
