BANDS from the Rye and Battle area are all set to take part in the Beatles Day charity event at the White Rock Theatre in Hastings on Sunday.
There are key spots for Rye’s Buick Six and the 1066 Rockit Men and from the Battle and Robertsbridge area; William Pollard, The Beagles and new act Wax.
Beatles Day runs continuously from midday to late on two stages with 65 acts and around 350 mainly local amateur performers of all ages and abilities playing Beatles songs of their choice and in their own style for up to 20 minutes.
Beatles Day started in a small bar in 2000, it was an instant success growing in size each year and moving to Hastings Marina Pavilion, Hastings Pier Ballroom before the White Rock Theatre with its two stages and space to accommodate larger audiences and more musicians.
All proceeds raised from ticket and merchandise sales go to MacMillan Cancer Support Charity with £120,000 raised since 2000.
Wristbands for the day can be bought at the theatre on the day including deals for families and children with a large audience expected.
