Bank installs ramp for disabled access

The decision to install a disabled access ramp outside the HSBC bank, High Street, Polegate, has been welcomed.

Polegate and Willingdon County Councillor Stephen Shing said, "I am very pleased to see that this access ramp will be ready for public use in a few weeks' time.

"A number of residents have expressed to me their excitement about the arrival of the access ramp and that they are looking forward to using it.

"I would like to thank those residents whom suggested this need and the bank for finally implementing it."

Wealden District Councillor, Oi Lin Shing, said, "I am delighted that the HSBC bank is at the stage of constructing the disabled access ramp.

"Additionally the Halifax bank is also in the process of acquiring a disabled access ramp by recently submitting a planning application to Wealden Council, I am pleased that is happening and I am fully support this application."
