Battle Abbey students celebrate exam success

There were tears of joy at Battle Abbey School as students finally found out their A-level results today (Thursday).

71 per cent of those who took the exams came away with A or B grades, with more than 20 per cent taking the top A* grade.

Roger Clark, headmaster at Battle Abbey School, was thrilled with the results.

Mr Clark said: "I am once again delighted with the A-level results at the school.

"71 per cent of all candidates achieved an A or B grade.

"In fact over 20 per cent of all our A-level entrants achieved the coveted A* grade. "Particular mention should go to Sophie Martin-Pavlou and Christopher Cutting who both received A* grades across the board in their chosen subjects.

"Many of our pupils will now be going on to fill places at top universities across the UK, including Exeter, Durham and Warwick.

"Notable in particular from this list is Holly Westbury-Haines who will be going on to Oxford."
