Biker hurt in Winchelsea crash

A 41 year-old man from Tonbridge, Kent, was injured after his Honda motorcycle was in collision with a Mercedes car at Winchelsea on Monday.

The injured biker was taken to the William Harvey Hospital, in Ashford, with serious but non life threatening injuries.

Police and emergency services were called to the A259 near the junction of Sea Road, Winchelsea, at around 1pm following reports of a head-on collision between the two vehicles.

The driver of the Mercedes, a 67-year-old man from Germany, was uninjured.

PC Simon Rideout from the Road Policing Unit said: “We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle prior to the incident. Please call 101 quoting serial 652 of 7/5.”
