Change of number for Sussex Police

MEMBERS of the public are no longer able to reach Sussex Police on the old non-emergency contact number from this week.

Last year, forces throughout England and Wales switched from their various non-emergency contact numbers to 101.

In Sussex, the old 0845 60 70 999 number ran alongside this, but it was switched off on Monday.

Callers dialling this number will be greeted with a recorded message encouraging them to use 101 or Sussex Police’s own non-emergency number 01273 470 101.

Calls to the 101 non-emergency number will cost 15p for the entire call, from landlines and mobile phones. In an emergency, callers should still dial 999, which is free.
