Christmas burglary in rural Rother

THIEVES stole expensive electronic equipment and cash from a home in Sedlescome during a Christmas Eve raid.

The East View Terrace property was broken into between 2.30-8pm on Monday December 24.

The intruders escaped with a number of items, including a Samsung LED 46” TV, Samsung sound bar, Samsung Blu Ray player and a Saegate 1GB goflex hard drive.

An OXO tin, containing £225 in cash, was also taken in the break-in.

Police have launched an appeal for witnesses in a bid to catch the cruel Christmas crooks.

PC Karen Heyes, of Battle Neighbourhood Policing Team, urged anyone with any information to come forward.

PC Heyes said: “I’d like to urge anyone offered the items described to contact police on 101.

“If you are a witness or have any information please call 101 quoting serial 1517 of 20/12.

“Alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
