Concerns about High Street ramp

BATTLE’S county councillor has lodged a complaint about the ‘ramp’ signs in the High Street.

Cllr Kathryn Field told East Sussex County Council the signs were causing an obstruction to pedestrians, including parents with young children.

Meanwhile town councillor Jackie Ormonde-Butler expressed concerns that the ramp, on the zebra crossing outside The Almonry, was in the wrong place.

She said: “You need ramps before the crossing because the time you get there, it’s too late.

“ That’s where that lady got knocked over.”
