Cycle thieves still causing problems in Rye town

A SPATE of cycle thefts in Rye is continuing.

The latest incident has seen a white Carrera Valour cycle stolen from an insecure shed at Lea Avenue.

The theft took place between 11.55pm on October 14 and 3pm on October 15.

It follows a racing bike being stolen from the Strand area.

A recent attempted theft of a cycle in Lion Street was foiled when a passer-by saw what was happening and stopped the thief in his tracks, allowing the owner to recover the bike.

The gave-a-go hero was later threatned by a group of youths who pulled up in a car.
