Dad takes plunge for hospital staff

A PEASMARSH dad is facing up to his fear of heights to jump 12,000 feet out of a plane to raise funds for the hospital that saved his daughter,

David Dawson’s daughter Hollie (pictured) faced a fight for life in intensive care when she was born in 2008.

Now she is a healthy and happy four year old but David wants to confront his fear to complete a fund-raising skydive in May.

He explained: “This is going to be a huge challenge for me as I am absoluetly terrified of heights.

“My daughter was very ill when she was born and things were not looking good for her. She was transferred to the William Harvey Hospital were the staff at the neonatal intensive care unit took great care and gave her round the clock attention.

“It was their dedication that kept my daughter alive and the reason she is still with us today. The care my daughter got was nothing short of the best.

“I want to do this to show my and my families appreciation. This will be a big achievement in my life.”

David will be making the jump at Headcorn, in Kent, on May 26. If you would like to support him you can find out more by visiting the justgiving website www.justgiving.com/DavesDive.
