IT has been difficult to avoid the shellfish delicacy in Rye this week with the town going mad for scallops.

The Rye Bay Scallop Festival got off to a lively start last weekend and was in full swing with week with a special quay-side Farmer’s Market and popular cookery schools being run by Webbes.

Rye’s pubs and restaurants are continuing to serve up scallops in mouth-watering array of scallop dishes.

Talks, tours and scallop themed quiz nights have all featured in a packed programme of events and the Festival continues this weekend.
