Driver killed on A21 near Battle

A DRIVER died in an accident on the A21 in the early hours of Sunday morning (October 21).

The accident happened at around 4am near Watlington on the bend near the Royal Oak pub.

Firefighter Mark Wise told the Observer that crews from Battle and The Ridge in Hastings were called to the scene because of concerns over the crashed car.

By the time they arrived the driver had been taken out of the car and was being treated by paramedics at the road side.

He was taken to the Conquest Hospital but Sussex Police has since confirmed he died from his injuries.
