FOURTEEN year old Playden girl Eliza Wallis tackled a 27 mile bike ride to raise £255.19 for the Meningitis Research

Eliza said: “I wanted to raise as much money as possible for Meningitis Research Foundation because my favourite teacher, Danny Sweatman, lost two brothers, Ryan and Joe, to meningitis.

“I can’t imagine how much this has affected the whole of their family and I thought it was my time to help.”

Chris Head, Chief Executive at MRF, said: “We are extremely grateful to Eliza for having taken on this Bike Ride on our behalf.

“We rely on voluntary donations to fund our vital work into the prevention, detection and treatment of meningitis and septicaemia, so every pound that she has raised will make a huge difference and enable us to continue our work.”
