Fire destroys furniture store near Robertsbridge

A major blaze has destroyed a furniture store just outside of Robertsbridge.

Firefighters spent much of last night fighting the blaze at the Country Furniture Barn in Flimwell. Crews were called at just after 11pm last night to find the building well alight.

A spokeswoman for East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said the two-storey building had been destroyed in the blaze.

Today, fire investigators were investigating the cause of the blaze at a business which specialises in selling solid wood furniture. The business is family-owned and has been operating for more than a decade.
