Get pedalling to help raise funds for Rye lifeboat

PEOPLE are being urged to get on their bike on Sunday and help support Rye Harbour Lifeboat Station by taking part in a cycle ride as part of National SOS Day.

The volunteer crew at the station are hosing the ride which has three routes. Their is a children’s route of 6km and an adult route either 25km or for the more dedicated cyclist 50km.

Registration will take place at Rye Harbour Lifeboat Station between 9am to 10am. The cycle ride will start between 10am to 11am. The entry fee will be £10 for adults and £5 for children.

Steve Tollett, from Rye Harbour Lifeboat, said: “The fundraising team will be providing soup and refreshments on the day, so why not come and join us.

“SOS Day is all about having fun and raising funds. Supporting SOS Day this January will help keep the RNLI’s lifeboat crews trained and equipped for the year ahead.

“ What a great way to really brightening up this otherwise dull month.”

The ride may have to be cancelled in the event of bad weather but people can check from Saturday onwards by checking the website at www.ryeharbourlifeboat.co.uk.
