Help your favourite Indian gain glory

VOTE for your favourite Indian restaurant in the Rye area and you could see it winning a prestigious Parliamentary award.

Rye MP Amber Rudd is inviting nominations for the coveted Tiffin Cup, for South Asian Restaurants.

Every year the Tiffin Cup is awarded in Parliament to the best South Asian Restaurant, nominated by an MP, in a final “cook-off” event in the House of Commons.

In 2011 and 2012 Amber invited nominations from Hastings and Rye restaurants. A new restaurant in St Leonards, the Taj Mahal, was a regional finalist in 2011 and then went onto win the National prize following a competitive “cook-off” in the House of Commons.

Amber said: “2011 was a tremendous success for Hastings. This year I am inviting nominations Rye and the surrounding villages as well as Hastings. Residents should send their recommendations to me at amber.rudd.mp@parliament.uk and whichever gets the most nominations will be our constituency’s entry for the Tiffin Cup.”

Nominations need to be in by March 27th and Amber is urging residents to participate so that 2013 can repeat the success of 2011.
