THE recently-launched Keane Trail has proved an international hit.

The Battle Marketing Group, funded by Rother District Council and in collaboration with 1066 Country Marketing, created a geographical tour of the band’s Strangeland album.

The intuitive and well-informed website features key locations in Battle, Bexhill and Hastings as featured in the music of Battle boys Keane.

The Keane Trail website went live last week and has been well received by the band’s fans - some of whom are planning on a pilgrimage to 1066 Country from the other side of the World.

Keane fans from all across the globe have contacted the team behind the Trail to give their seal of approval.

In the space of just a few days, news of the Keane Trail had spread to fans in Indonesia, Russia, Argentina, Paraguay, Colombia, Chile and the United States.

Some had already visited 1066 Country and said the Trail would encourage them to make a return visit to the area.

One fan said she had travelled all the way from Italy last year, just to take a coffee at the Sovereign Light Cafe on Bexhill seafront.

Keane released a song called Sovereign Light Cafe in 2012, based on the band’s experiences of the unassuming refreshment stop.
