Knitting For Oliver
Ladies from Northiam's Willing Fingers craft group have done their bit toward a bid to knit the longest scarf in Rye.
The project is in memory of Peasmarsh Primary pupil Oliver Curd who died last year after losing his fight against a rare bone disease.
The Oliver Curd Fundraising Trust is raising money to provide a holiday home for terminally ill children and their families.
The bid to knit the scarf is being led by Oliver's gran Fay Curd.
It will be unveiled in Rye High Street on the morning of Saturday April 19 and those taking part are hoping it will stretch the full length of the High Street.
The Northiam Willing Fingers Group have been knitting six inch squares following a generous donation of wool from Coats Crafts.
Other members helped to sew the squares into two foot blankets.
This week the group handed over 25 blankets, made from 320 squares, and 30 sponsor money to Oliver's mum Sarah Curd.
Sarah said: "Please help by either sponsoring us, supplying odd balls of wool or knitting two foot squares.
"Wool or knitted squares can be taken the River Haven Hotel n Rye or the Edinburgh Woollen Mill in Rye High Street.
"The squares will later be made into blankets and given to charity."
