Magicians check in

THERE will be plenty of magic in the air at Eastbourne's Grand Hotel when the world's top magicians come to town.

The town has traditionally hosted the bi-annual convention of the British Ring of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, the world's largest organisation for magical arts.

The organisation has more then 15,000 members and the British Ring is one of more than 300 groups in more than 73 countries.

The British Ring's 72nd convention opens at the Congress Theatre on September 24 and on Friday September 26, the Grand Hotel is hosting a special evening where guests will be enjoy a magical evening of gourmet food, wine and amazing entertainment from a group of guest magicians.

After a reception with canaps, the evening will be hosted by Las Vegas star Jeff Hobson. The black tie event costs 78 per person, to include the reception, three-course meal with wine, coffee and the full programme of entertainment.

Hundreds of magicians from the UK, and more than 20 other countries, will attend the convention for a programme of lectures, displays, workshops and competitions.

And whilst they won't be giving away any of their secrets to curious members of the public and budding Harry Potter's, guests at the Grand Hotel are guaranteed a mind-boggling evening of magical fun.
