More bursts delay water mains repair

SOME homes in the Northiam area were still without water this morning following yesterday’s mains burst at Staplecross Road.

South Eastern Water had hoped to restore the water supply by Wednesday lunchtime but were hampered by more bursts on the same main.

The water company has said that for any customers who are still without water, bottled water is available at Beckley Village Hall, Playden Village Hall, Rye Road and Jempsons supermarket, Peasmarsh. Please only take one pack of water (six two-litre bottles) per household. They will restock our supplies if they run out.
