A RECORD number of pupils at Guestling Bradshaw School have been awarded Library Challenge reading certificates. Michelle Tugwell, from the school, said: “Elaine from the library service has worked with the school for several years and commented that for a school of this size, the participation was fantastic.

“Several of the pupils who were successful have not always found reading easy and it was a credit to the hard work of their teachers, parents, volunteer helpers and the children’s resilience that so many of them took up the challenge.

“We are hoping that next year even more of our pupils will take part as we are constantly striving to engage pupils across the school to develop a love of reading. Our KS2 reading levels this year reflected the committment throughout the school.”
