Rye College awards salute sporting stars of the future

TEAM GB Paralympian Claire Harvey will be among the guest speakers when Rye College holds a Sports Awards evening on Wednesday November 7 from 6.30pm - 8.30pm.

The event is being held to recognise sporting achievements of students and will see one student being named Sports Personality of the Year and 12 other awards being made in various categories including Team of the Year and Most Improved Team.

They have been organised by the College’s PE department and take place in the main hall of the school.

More than 200 people are expected to attend the awards.

Other Guests include former student Richard Rose, who went on to become a professional footballer, and representatives from Brighton and Hove Albion Ladies Team.

There will be raffle prizes including a signed Brighton football shirt and rugby tickets to see London Irish, donated by Gray Nichols.

Other prizes include beauty treatments from Rye Retreat and Freedom Leisure.

Sponsors are Rush, Whitt and Wilson, Zeus Gym, Somerfields Gymnastics, Hastings Athletics Club and LAC Swimming Training.
