RYE Lions have provided local school s with Life Skills teaching materials.

The Lions in the UK produce a variety of teaching materials to be used in schools.

The se may not normally be part of the curriculum, such as how to deal with changes such as family breakdown and bereavement, alcohol, sexual health and drug abuse.

Teaching aids are also produced to help children gain confidence, responsibility, develop relationships and to make the most of their abilities.

The total of 25 aids are designed for specific age groups, such as 3 to 5 years old, 5 to 11 years and 11 to 18 years old.

Many are interactive and can be easily photocopied for hand-outs and project work.

Copies of the “Life Changes” teaching aid have recently been presented to Mr Edgesmith, Head Teacher of Sandhurst Primary School and to Miss Rock, Deputy Head, at Hawkhurst Church of England Primary School.

All primary and senior schools in Rye Lions area have been supplied with many of these teaching aids by the Lions at no cost to the schools.

Rye Lions fund raise throughout the year for good causes locally and internationally.

They organise Rye’s big annual Raft Race.
