Rye Primary gets piratical

Pirate 1

PUPILS and teachers of Rye Primary School were shouting ‘shiver-me-timbers’ as they rounded off their swashbuckling pirate adventures in style last Friday.

The children, who have been discovering Pirates as part of their learning journey, finished their amazing topic with a fun-filled day of activities, including pirate-ship modelling, shanty-song singing and pirate sketching.

Year 2 teacher Mr Darren Gurr said: “The quality of learning across the KS1 classes has been outstanding. The children have produced some stunning writing. They’ve been totally engrossed in their learning about pirates and there has been a real buzz about school. Our jam-packed day was a great way to end the term.”
