RYE Scallop Festival is in full swing this week.

A successful launch weekend saw celebrations in local pubs and shelling and cooking demonstrations taking place on the quay-side.

The packed programme of events is continuing with a special scallop themed Farmers’ market at Strand Quay on Wednesday morning and a special cookery school at Webbes which gave people guidance on how to impress with their own sumptuous scallop dishes.

The Festival comes to a lively conclusion on Sunday morning with the What A Load of Scallops Race taking place at the Strand by the Ship Inn.
