Cadets Recruit

RYE Sea Cadets have launched a recruitment drive following a successful year.

Last year saw the Rye Unit go from strength to strength securing another efficiency pennant for their hard work. Other accolades earned in 2012 included being runners up in the National .22 shooting competition and cadets gaining BTEC distinction level diplomas in public services.

Officer in Charge of Rye Sea Cadets, Chief Petty Officer Steve Smith said: “We want other young people from the surrounding area to join us in our success in what I am sure will prove to be another busy and challenging year. 2013 is the units diamond anniversary year and I can’t think of a better time to join with so much on offer and at just £8 per month it’s an opportunity that shouldn’t be missed”

Rye Sea cadets take part in a variety of activities including, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, band, canoeing, mountain biking, rock climbing, navigation and chartwork, seamanship, marine engineering, first aid and the BTEC Level 2 diploma in public services to name a few.

Rye Sea Cadets are now recruiting for juniors 10 – 12 years old on Fridays 1900 - 2100 and seniors 12 – 18 on Mondays and Fridays 1900 -2100
