Sara Lee charity is seeking trustees to join its board

THE Sara Lee Trust charity, which helps seriously ill people in the Rye and Batle area is appealing for new volunteer trustees to join its board.

Sara Lee is an independent, local charity providing complementary therapies, counselling and creative therapies to people in Hastings and Rother living through cancer and other serious illness; with support for their families and carers.

Maria Gonet, from the charity, said: “Our Board of Trustees are a group of volunteers who take overall responsibility and act collectively to govern the organisation.

“They are responsible for ensuring the mission and long-term aims of the Trust are met as well as ensuring the Trust is complying with current legislation and governance best practice.

“Can you give up some of your free time to undertake the duties of the role, including attending meetings and fund-raising events? If so, please contact Liz Knight on 01424 456608 or email liz@saraleetrust.org.uk for an application pack.

The Sara Lee Trust offers therapy treatments at the ARRCC centre in Rye and has a charity shop outlet in Bexhill.

It has been established for 16 years.
