Teen beauty queen raises
funds for Crohn’s charity

editorial image

A 17-YEAR-OLD beauty queen has raised several hundred pounds for a charity which helps those suffering from an incurable disease.

Cripps Corner teenager Angelica Beacroft, the current Miss Teen Sussex Galaxy, held a Valentines Charity Ball at Woodside B&B and Glamping to raise both awareness and funds for Crohn’s and Colitis UK.

In her capacity as a fundraising beauty queen, and having recently been diagnosed with this terrible chronic, incurable disease herself, it seemed fitting that she chose this particular charity to promote at this event.

Overall Angel raised £344.25, after costs, between the ball and her Just Giving webpage.

At the sit down dinner she gave a speech enlightening the attendees about her own Crohn’s story and provided some general information and statistics about the disease.

Like Angel’s nine years of pain and investigations, so many people are not diagnosed correctly and suffer horrendous stomach pain for years without knowing they have this disease and are told they just have IBS; so awareness of the symptoms is just as important as raising money to donate for research to try and find a cure.

To make a donation to Crohn’s and Colitis UK please visit Angel’s Just Giving page at www.justgiving.com/Angel-Beacroft and click donate. For more information on Crohn’s please see www.crohnsandcolitis.org.uk.
