Thieves steal cash in Battle burglary

A SAFE, containing hundreds of pounds worth of cash, was stolen during a raid on a home in Battle.

Thieves broke into the property in Bowmans Drive between 8am-7pm on Tuesday September 4.

A number of high-value items were stolen during the burglary, including an Apple iPad and a black metal digital keypad safe containing $1000 (USD in cash), £900, a passport, various credit cards, bank documents and other currencies in small amounts.

A man was spotted trying to get in to the side gate of the property between 3-4pm.

The suspect is described as a Mediterranean man, aged 20-30, 5’10”-6’ of slim build and with short, straight dark hair. He was wearing a dark T-shirt, dark blue denim jeans and white trainers.

Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting serial 1626 of 4/9. Alternatively, call independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
