Thieves target cars in Rye area

MOTORISTS are failing to heed police advice not to leave valuables in insecure vehicles with a number of thefts taking place in the Rye area.

Three stereos were stolen from insecure vehicles at Rye Harbour Road over the weekend.

A caravan at Rye Harbour was also targeted and had a number plate stolen.

A bag was stolen from an insecure vehicle parked at Dogs Hill Road, Winchelsea Beach, during the afternoon of September 11.

There have also been recent vehicle break-ins at Rye with i-pads and a laptop stolen from a car at Hilders Cliff and a vehicle broken into at Ferry Road, with damage caused to the lock.
