TV favourite Ben unveils new project at Pestalozzi

Grand Designs favourite Ben Law has unveiled his latest project, a unique hand sculptured barn built as part of the regeneration of Pestalozzi International Village Trust in Sedlescombe.

Eduardo Goncalves, from WWF International, 'cut the bark' to launch Kasthamahal (meaning 'wooden palace' in Nepali) and Pestalozzi's Global Garden project.

The name was given by the Pestalozzi international students to this roundwood timber frame construction built on the beautiful 175 acre site by Ben and his team of trainee eco-builders in just eight weeks.

The project showcases the Pestalozzi charity's 'head, heart and hands' philosophy by demonstrating the value of practical skills and sustainability.

The Pestalozzi Barn and an exhibition of its development will be open for public viewing on Sunday during Pestalozzi's monthly guided walk.

The tour leaves Pestalozzi reception at 3pm and costs 2, including tea and cake.

For further information please contact 01424 870444 or visit www.pestalozzi.org.uk which includes more photos of the barn.
