WORK has now started on the next private phase of Rye’s Valley Park housing development .

It addresses concerns in Rye that there was an inbalance on the estate with the majority of homes currently occupied being social housing.

The spacious new homes will be ready for occuptation in spring or summer next year with prices starting at £185,000 for a two bedroom property.

“We are very pleased to see a recent upturn in sales and we have commenced the next phase of purely private homes” said Gavin Thomas, Chief Executive, of developers Aroncorp.

He added: “The new phase overlooks the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the park itself and we have already exchanged contracts on the sale of one of the four bedroom houses”.

“We are maintaining our very high standards of construction and will continue to offer the best value for money in Rye”

“All new houses at Valley Park offer double glazing, fully fitted kitchens, luxury bathrooms, under floor heating and timber laminate ground floors, with good sized gardens and car parking.

“A 10 year Warranty with low maintenance and running costs come as standard. “

Residents at Rye’s Old Brickyard have complained of an increase in rubbish and late night noise since Valley park opened.

But Mr Thomas denied that residents of the new estate were responsible for anti-social behaviour.

He said: “There is no anti-social behaviour from the 250 residents of Valley Park, only half of which are in rented accommodation .

“The main problem, for us, is the influx of undesirables from other parts of Rye.

“We are looking into restricting access to the Park in other areas to control “neighbouring” dog walkers who simply abuse the facility which has been provided.”

Developers have now re-instated a gate at the end of Old Brikyard, at the request of residents, to restrict motorcyle access to Valley Park.

Sales for the new homes are being handled by local estate agents Rush, Witt and Wilson.

Agent Ralph Popple said: “We are pleased to have been selected to sell the next phase at Valley Park. Our regional negotiators went around the development and were extremely impressed with the high quality of the new homes.

“Valley Park has become a friendly tranquil community.”
