GARDEN enthusiasts will have a rare chance to visit Northiam’s Great Dixter House and Gardens when they open to visitors this weekend.

Perry Rodriguez, from Great Dixter, said: “For many visitors it will be the first time to access our newly restored barn and oast which we are very proud of.

“Why not take this opportunity to experience Great Dixter in its winter glory with all its magnificent bones on show.

“Yew hedges, topiary, Lutyens’ brickwork and medieval buildings provide the backdrop for snowdrops, crocuses and hellebores.

“ Winter work on the garden is ongoing and you have the opportunity to see the progress before opening.

“ The Nursery will be open to get ahead on buying plants for this year’s garden planning.

“The four year restoration of the barns and house are now complete and the Great Barn is open to see the sensitive restoration of this immense medieval structure and its Oast house.”

Great Dixter will be open on Saturday and Sunday February 16 and 17 and again over the weekend of February 23 and 24. It will be open from 10am - 4pm on Both days .

The Great Dixter estate is run by a Charitable Trust.
