Warning of possible New Year disruption

RAIL passengers should check before travelling between now and the New Year due to possible disruption of services warn Network Rail.

A weekend timetable will be in place until New Year’s Day and will be subject to engineering works.

High speed trains from Ashford to London will be running a normal Monday to Friday and weekend timetabled service.

Significant engineering works for the Thameslink programme will take place at Tanners Hill near Lewisham which will affect many services into and out of London. Diversions and replacement buses will be in place.

A Southeastern spokesman said: “Network Rail will be using the Christmas period to undertake some major engineering works so our services will be affected.

“We will be running a weekend timetable on our metro and mainline with some additional peak hour services, so we advise all passengers to plan their travel ahead.

“All the information about train times and amended and additional services is available from National Rail Enquiries, from our website or contact our customer services.”
