THE A259 road will be closed between Hastings and Guestling this weekend for resurfacing and drainage work.
Highways Agency contractors say the road will be closed between 8pm today (Friday) and 6am on Monday March 10.
It is part of ongoing work that is set to last until the end of March and involves further overnight closures.
From Hastings the diversion is via Fairlight Road, Cliff End and Pett Level Road, Sea Road to Winchelsea.
Traffic heading west from Rye and Winchelsea will be diverted in the opposite direction.
It should be possible to travel from The Ridge B2093 via Chowns Hill/Ivyhouse Lane/Three Oaks/Butchers Lane to get to Icklesham from Hastings.
After the weekend closure there will be traffic lights and lane closures in place 24 hours a day, seven days a week until the work is completed.
These will be manned at peak times.
