Battle Museum has a new website

THE Battle Museum of Local History has a new website ahead of the new season.

The museum opens for the new season on April 1 2014.

The special exhibition this year is commemorating Battle’s heroes in The Great War, revealing some unexpected facts and individual stories.

Visitors can find out more about this new exhibition and the wider collection on the museum’s new website www.battlemuseum.com.

Opening hours are 10am-4.30pm Monday to Saturday.

Admission is £2 and children are admitted free of charge but must be accompanied by an adult.

Anyone interested in local history can also visit www.battlelocalhistory.com.

The website includes links to both the museum’s site and to the site of the Battle and District Historical Society.

Visitors will also be able to find details of Battle950 - the plans of the museum and the society for commemorating the 950th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings in 2016 - and a History Bank, a library of articles on Battle through the ages.
