NORTHIAM Bonfire Society is set to celebrate mid-summer with its biggest fund raiser of the year.
A festival of fun takes place on the playing fields and begins on Saturday June 21.
It will feature an indoor marquee and outdoor craft fayre; a dog show; beer festival and barbecue.
There will be live music throughout the day and hot and cold refreshments.
Among planned attractions are a children’s fun fair, bouncy castles, face painting, tractor and trailer rides and side shows to keep both young and not so young entertained.
Weather permitting, remote controlled planes will be flying with a chance for youngsters to have the chance of flying one under the careful supervision of a member of the Hastings Model Flying Club.
The Beer Festival heralds the return of The Highwayman’s Inn, the ‘pub’ run by the Northiam Bonfire Boyes and Belles in which they will be selling locally brewed ales and ciders.
The live music will include an Open Mic session between 4 and 7pm.
The festival starts at 11am and runs through to 4pm with entry to the public being free throughout the day.
The music, beer festival and barbecue will run on in to the evening, with last orders being called at 9pm.
The fun continues on Sunday 22 with Mock the Week panellist and comedian, Milton Jones performing in the marquee supported by live music. This will be a ticketed event and tickets are available by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, ringing 01797 253118 or available for purchase during the Saturday event.
