GUESTLING’S Buckswood School has welcomed 152 new scholars.
The new intake sees 35 local children joining the school across the Juniors, GSCE and sixth form departments.
New international boarders joined from places as far afield as Chile, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Swaziland, Germany, Montenegro, Hong Kong, Mexico and Nigeria; taking the number of nations represented at the school up to 50.
Headteacher Mark Redsell commented “Buckswood is going from strength to strength with solid exam results and the international make up of the student body proving popular with local parents as well as those from overseas.
“We have an exciting term ahead with lots of trips and extracurricular activities planned.
Buckswood is also growing overseas, with the expansion of the school’s African study centre in Swaziland, and a new school in Hong Kong due to open in the new year. Buckswood Georgia has been voted in the top three schools and Buckswood Nigeria continues to develop with the introduction of features such as an outdoor ice rink.
