Crawley is a growing, vibrant town and a large part of that is down to the people who live, work and volunteer here.

These awards are an opportunity for us to recognise their talent, sacrifice, achievement, courage or inspiration and to show how much they are appreciated.

There are various ways that the council works with the voluntary and community sector in Crawley.

We give funding to help the groups provide services; enable their development and growth through professional support; identify community needs and issues and help provide a response and help develop projects that respond to local needs.

Michael Jones, cabinet member for community engagement at Crawley Borough Council, said: “The community is at the heart of all we do.

“We support and work with community groups and organisations who help to make a positive difference to the town.

“If you know of someone who makes Crawley a better place then nominate them for a Crawley Community Award now.

“The awards evening at The Hawth in March promises to be an inspirational night and I can’t wait.”

The deadline for nominations is Friday February 12.

Time is running short for postal submissions, but people can still make a nomination online until midnight on February 12.

Any correspondence received after that will not be considered.
