Jempson's donation for Rye street pastors

Street pastors were given a boost of more than £500 from a supermarket today (Wednesday, May 4).

The Rye and District Street Pastors were presented with a cheque for £571.78 by Jempson’s at its Rye store.

The pastors patrol the streets of Rye, Camber and Rye Harbour every other Friday and Saturday night.

Senior street pastor Malcolm Harris thanked the independent supermarket for its continued support.

Owner Stephen Jempson said he was delighted to support the team.

“These trained volunteers offer invaluable support to the residents of Rye as well as other local communities for which we are very grateful,” he said.
