A motorcyclist died in a crash on the A21 on Wednesday evening (August 27).
Police say the 49-year-old rider, who was from Dartford, was in collision with a Ford Fusion van on the stretch of road just north of Whatlington, just after 6.30pm.
Three ambulances and the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance response car raced to the scene, but sadly the biker passed away.
Sergeant Dan Pitcher, of the Sussex Police Road Policing Unit, said: “Paramedics attended to the man who sadly died at the scene.
“Officers would like to thank motorists for their understanding and patience while the road was closed for several hours as they investigated the circumstances.”
The fatal accident happened just two days after two motorcyclists from France were seriously injured in a crash involving several vehicles on the A259 in Hooe.
Anyone who witnessed the collision on the A21 or may have seen the vehicles just before the crash is asked to contact police on 101 or email email@example.com quoting Operation Glaven.
