Northiam woman among casualties of two-car crash

A Northiam woman was among three people to end up in hospital after two cars crashed head-on yesterday (Thursday, June 30).

Emergency services were called to Old London Road, Hastings, to attend the crash involving a red Fiat and a purple Ford at around 5.55pm.

The Fiat driver, the 66-year-old woman from Northiam, suffered slight injuries and was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The driver of the Ford, a 21-year-old woman from Hastings, also sustained slight injuries and was taken to hospital as a precaution as was her 31-year-old female passenger.

One of the women in the Ford had to be cut free from the car by East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service.

The road was closed southbound for recovery work but reopened at around 7.30pm.
