SUSSEX Police have donated £300 to Rye and District Day Centre to contribute towards their running costs.
The donation was made possible due to seized assets from convicted criminals.
The Rye and District Day Centre provides help and social interaction to the local elderly community.
They organise meetings twice a week involving a variety of different activities from exercise to crafts and provide members with a two course meal.
It is a self-funding charity and relies heavily on fund-raising and generous donations from local organisations and companies.
The donation comes from the Police Property Act Fund (PPAF), made up of monies received by the police from property confiscated by order of the court and then sold.
This could also include money made from drugs dealing and other criminal activities.
