The Rye Partnership work and training Roadshow took place at Tilling Green Community Centre on July 9. This event was a combined recruitment day working with Family Mosaic and local supermarket Jempson’s offering local jobs to local people.

In total 55 people attended the event and Jempson’s and family Mosaic provided application forms, with recruitment staff on hand to offer light touch interviews. The rural employability project vacancy board was on display with jobs from other employers including Little Gate Farm Charity, Pontins Camber Sands, the Gallivant Hotel and many others.

Flora Williams, Employment co-ordinator for the project said “There are further opportunities to meet the Family Mosaic recruitment team at Rye Community Centre on Tuesday 22nd, 29th July and 5th August.

“This is the fifth roadshow event delivered by the project and they have all proved successful in recruiting staff and offering information regarding training, volunteering, apprenticeships and other work club services offered. The Rural Employability Project is funded by the Department for Work and Pensions flexible support fund and now has many other partner organisations working together to improve the employment prospects for local people.”

Agencies working together with Rye Partnership to make this Roadshow a success include Jobcentre plus, Sussex Coast College, Rother Voluntary action, Future Youth Training, Finding Futures Dyslexia service, National Careers Service, Rother Children’s Centre, 1066job.com, Hastings Works representing Own Grown, Education Futures Trust, The MY Trust, Romney Resource Centre and Little Gate Farm Charity.
