ROBERTSBRIDGE Community College has reported a rise in this year’s GCSE results.
59 percent of pupils achieved a total of five A*-C grades, including English and maths, and this headline figure has improved on last year by eight percent.
There were many impressive individual performances with a total of 19 students achieving four or more A*/A grades.
The college’s specialist subject of maths, together with English literature, triple sciences, history, German, drama, BTEC PE and textiles all performed well, achieving in excess of 75 percent A*-C.
Headteacher Simon Potten said: “I am delighted to report that we have a higher number of students performing at the top level than previously.
“Our headline figure has improved with the core subjects performing well.
“A significant number of subjects within the college have sustained and improved their outcomes, some recording record results.
“This is testament to the endeavour of students and hard work and endeavour of staff at the college to maintain and improve pupil progress.
“These results show that we are set for considerable further success in the future.”
