Cate Blanchet stars as New York socialite Jasmine French when Rye Film Club screen Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine at the Community Centre on Friday evening.
After rising to the top she is returning utterly ruined to her estranged sister in San Francisco.
As Jasmine struggles with her haunting memories of a privileged lost past life, it proves a losing battle as old pretensions and new deceits threaten to foul up the lives of those around her.
This is Woody Allen’s acclaimed return to form with both Cate Blanchett and Sally Hawkins nominated for Oscars in this year’s forthcoming Academy Awards. The film starts at 7pm, doors 6.30pm.
