POLICE Community Support Officers Ian Tomsett and Emma Phillips visited Saxonwood Care Home in Battle to enjoy a coffee morning with the residents and discuss ways they can protect themselves from scam mail.
Recognising that scam phone calls, letters and emails have been on the rise, home manager Vafa Hurst wanted the residents to receive more information about it.
The residents enjoyed hearing the ways they can protect themselves from scam mail and also heard about the upcoming projects that the police are working on.
Edith Richmond, a resident from the home said: “It’s been really helpful to meet the police officers and we now feel more reassured that they are focussing on protecting people from scam mail.
“We were all surprised at the ways in which the scams take place and how common it has become.”
