CHEF Richard King created a seven course vegan feast for a special dinner in aid of Rye United football club.
He came up with dishes such as Satay, No-Steak and Mushroom Pudding and Tiramisu as well as his signature Burmese dishes. All this was washed down by vegan wines vegan beer from the Hastings Brewery.
Attending the event were 25 guests including club officials, members of the Hastings and Rye Bay Vegan Dining Group and Rye Labour candidate Sarah Owen.
The event raised around £900 for the crisis hit club which has had to cope with an arson attack in 2010 and a water-logged pitch which has wiped out most of the fixtures this year.
Miss Owen praised the club as a vital community resource.
